Booking.com Room IDs: The 5 Most Common Causes of Connection Issues with Your Channel Manager

Fix connection and synchronization issues with your Booking.com Room IDs and set up your vacation rental Channel Manager correctly.

Important: This article is only relevant if your Booking.com Property ID has multiple Room IDs assigned to it (e.g. multiple vacation rentals or rooms within the same property).

How to check this:

Log in to the Booking.com Extranet and go to Property → Room details.

If multiple rooms or accommodation units are listed there, your property has multiple Room IDs, and this article is relevant if you're experiencing connection issues with your Channel Manager.

1. One of your Room IDs has a different address or currency in your Channel Manager

Problem

If you have multiple Booking.com Room IDs set up in your vacation rental Channel Manager, all Room IDs must use the same address and currency.

If even one Room ID differs from the others, the connection or synchronization may fail.

Solution

  1. Open your Channel Manager.
  2. Check the address and currency for each individual Room ID.
  3. Make sure all Room IDs use the same address and currency.
  4. Correct any differences.
  5. Start the connection again.

2. Each Room ID can only exist once

Problem

Each Booking.com Room ID can only be added to your Channel Manager once.

If the same Room ID exists multiple times—for example, because the number of units for a room category is set to more than 1—synchronization may fail.

Solution

  1. Open your Channel Manager.
  2. Go to Property → Room Details.
  3. Make sure the number of units for each Room ID is set to 1.
  4. Remove duplicate entries if necessary and create them as separate Room IDs.

3. Every Booking.com Room ID must be created separately in your Channel Manager

Problem

If your property (Property ID) contains multiple vacation rentals or rooms, Booking.com assigns a separate Room ID to each accommodation unit.

Each of these Room IDs must be created as a separate property in your Channel Manager. Otherwise, a proper connection is not possible.

Solution

  1. Create each Room ID as a separate property in your Channel Manager.
  2. Connect each property to its corresponding Booking.com Room ID.
  3. Check the synchronization afterwards.

4. Every Room ID must have at least one Standard Rate

Problem

Each Booking.com Room ID requires at least one active Standard Rate (Rate Plan).

If no Standard Rate exists, prices, availability and bookings cannot be synchronized.

Solution

  1. Open the Booking.com Extranet.
  2. Go to Rates & Availability → Rate Plans.
  3. Check whether every Room ID has at least one Standard Rate.
  4. Create any missing Standard Rates and start the synchronization again.

5. A Room ID is assigned to the wrong DiBooq property

Problem

Each Booking.com Room ID must be assigned to the correct property in DiBooq.

If a Room ID is accidentally linked to the wrong vacation rental, bookings, prices and availability will not synchronize correctly.

Solution

  1. Open the Booking.com section in DiBooq.
  2. Check the assignment of each Room ID.
  3. Make sure every Room ID is linked to the correct DiBooq property.
  4. If necessary, disconnect incorrect assignments and start the connection process again. (If bookings have already been imported, please contact us first.)
