Airbnb: The 5 most common reasons for connection issues with your Channel Manager

Check the most common causes of connection issues and successfully connect your Channel Manager to Airbnb.

 1. The connection process gets stuck or does not respond

Problem

After clicking "Connect", nothing happens or the connection process does not complete.

Cause

In most cases, a pop-up blocker prevents the Airbnb login page from opening, which is required to authorize the connection.

Solution

Option A: Disable your pop-up blocker

Disable the pop-up blocker for Airbnb in your browser:

After disabling the pop-up blocker, restart the connection process.

💡 Tip: If you use an ad blocker or script blocker such as AdBlock, uBlock Origin or Ghostery, temporarily disable it for both Airbnb and DiBooq as well.

Option B: Use an Incognito or Private window

Open a new Incognito or Private browsing window and restart the connection process. This often bypasses browser extensions and saved sessions that may interfere with the connection.

Option C: Open DiBooq in another browser

If the connection process still doesn't work, try connecting using another browser (for example, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari). This is often the quickest way to rule out browser- or extension-specific issues.

2. Your Airbnb account is already connected to another Channel Manager

Problem

Airbnb only allows one active Channel Manager connection per account. If your account is already connected to another provider, you cannot establish another connection.

Solution

  1. Log in to Airbnb in Host mode.
  2. Click the menu (☰) in the top-right corner.
  3. Open Account.
  4. Open Privacy & sharing.
  5. Scroll down to Connected services.
  6. Check whether another Channel Manager is already connected.
  7. Remove the existing connection.
  8. Start the connection process with DiBooq again.

3. No profile photo has been added to your Airbnb Host account

Problem

Your Airbnb Host account has not been fully set up.

Solution

Upload a profile photo to your Airbnb Host profile, then restart the connection process.

4. You are a Co-Host of the Airbnb listing

Problem

You are trying to connect to a Co-Host listing.  This is not supported by Airbnb.

Solution

Connect DiBooq using the primary Host account that originally created the listing. Only this account has the required permissions to connect to a vacation rental Channel Manager.

5. You want to connect multiple Airbnb accounts to one DiBooq account

Problem

At the moment, a DiBooq account can be connected to only one Airbnb account.

Solution

You have two options:

  • Manage all your listings from a single Airbnb account and connect that account to DiBooq.
  • Create a separate DiBooq account for each Airbnb account.

Then start the connection process again.
